I have always been really active and find myself being drawn to the mountains where the air is fresh and the views breath-taking.
So imagine my dismay when my health started taking a nose dive! 3 years ago I started feeling little twinges in my groan, I thought it was just a strain from all the activities but then a year ago it started really going down hill which was made worse by a fall. It wasn't until 6 months later after a lot of back and forth from the doctors that I was sent for an x-ray which throw up what was really going on that action had to be taken.

You see, the ball of my hip had completely changed and wasn't doing the job it was supposed to any more in fact it looked like an exploded cauliflower, so no wonder I was barely able to walk!!!
It amazed me how fast I went from being really active and able to walk miles to hardly making it to the kitchen!
I'm not going to lie it was so hard mentally I was shocked how my mental health declined, I'm usually always see the positives in things but with this I just could see any joy without having to dig deep then came the eating! I have always been an emotional eater so quite quickly that became my new passion.

After seeing my consultant I had two choices either carry on with the hip the way it is or replace it! not really much of a choice really!!! I also was told if my BMI went up any higher they would have to postpone my surgery, this to sent me spiralling as I had no idea how to stop.
That's when I looked in to a medical way to curb my eating.
I first contacted my GP for help but they told me that there was little they could offer and that I should try eating less and exercising more all very well and good except I couldn't exercise more!!!
So I made a decision to sort this in the only way I could see that might work. I looked into a non invasive way for medical weight loss and that's when I started reading about the wonder drug Manjaro. It wasn't cheap prices started from £125 for the smallest dose but I had to do something and this seemed the only option open to me that would work quickly. So I started taking Manjaro 10 weeks before my surgery date, to be honest I didn't think it would really help even if there had been loads of reviews saying how amazing it is! So imagine my surprise when in the first week I lost 2kg.
10 weeks later I had lost a total of 10kg which was fantastic I felt better in myself and my consultant was happy that my BMI was reduced.
On the 30th June I had the hip replacement I'm not going to lie its been a journey and it really has taken some getting used to the new normal. The thing is your not really told how you will feel or what really to expect, yes I felt better in the way the pain had completely gone, but the discomfort and the repositioning of the new hip has been tough.

Well I'm 6 weeks on now and I'm defiantly 100% better than I was and as of this weekend I have had a glimpse of my old self.

So this is the new me I know one thing is for sure I won't be taking my life for granted and I will be grabbing adventure by the horns and I'll be taking you along on the journey with me :-)
