Red Sea Adventures For All Part 3!

Updated: Sep 17, 2021

The last two adventures we went had been incredible so when my daughter suggested going out on quad bikes I thought she had gone mad!

This was defiantly something I had never thought about trying before let alone done but I thought 'what the heck!' and book us a for a 2hr afternoon trip.

We where picked up from our hotel and driven with others out to the desert compound where our trip would begin. After an intro in to how to work the quads we where first taken on a tester ride which was designed to make sure we could control our quads and also to make sure we really did want to go out for a 2hr trip!

I have to say I didn't feel as confident as my daughter who took to it like a duck to water!!

We had the choice of going out with a group to the Bedouin village where we could also experience a camel ride and local culture or take a ride out in to the desert towards the mountains just myself Jenna and the guide.

We opted for choice number 2!

Off we sped out n to the desolate lands of the Red Sea desert towards the mountains that looked so small in the distance.

Over bumps and through sand we ventured all the while keeping in single file for safety.

Now no one ever tells you how hard on the wrists quad biking is!! with all the vibrations and having to hold on the acceleration after about 45 mins my poor wrist was aching! so we had a stop off for a photo and some water before heading out again towards the mountains.

As the mountain ranges got closer it amazed me just how jagged they are they seemed to be made up solely of shale with no possibility of climbing them. Made from a dark stone as we entered in to a valley it felt like we had just entered in to a scene from Lord of the Rings when Frodo entered Mordor!

The only sound was that of our quad bikes with out another living soul around what amazed me was there was no sign of wild life either! It really did feel other worldly.

Half way in to the valley we stopped for a break before our return journey this gave me an opportunity to climb up one of the smaller hills to see exactly what the terrain was like.

It was as I had thought pretty shalely but did have some harder footing in places making the climb slow and a little risky, but the views from up there where beautiful just the shear magnitude of the mountains is enough to take your breath away.

On the return journey the sun began to set over the mountains casting a golden glow over everything the light touched, with the dust rising from the tires of the quad bikes it made the atmosphere magical and some how other worldly.

Once we arrived back at the compound we drank some sweet Egyptian tea while we waited for our transport back to our hotel.

Out of 10 this adventure was an 11 with something for every adventurer.

We loved it so much it is one of our new exciting adventures for everyone to enjoy!

Check it out for yourself :-) Click Here!

Until next time

Happy Adventures!
