Red Sea Adventures For All! Part 1!

One of the most common misconceptions is that adventure holidays and tours are for only the fittest of us, which is so untrue it hurts!

I mean look at me i'm no poster girl for a fitness campaign! but I do have a passion for adventure and a desire to get out in to the world and have experiences; after all what is life for if not for having a little fun along the way?!

So seeming I live half my time in Egypt I thought what better way to spend holiday time but getting out and having an adventure or two in the Red Sea area of Hurghada!

I have been coming here for years but have always opted for all inclusive and then never really adventured out of the hotel!! 🙄

so this time I thought nope we are going to get out there and see what this place has to offer!!

Our first adventure took us to a lovely little stables set in the grounds of an old hotel the horses are all stabled up in the shade with a little paddock for being able to wonder around in.

We met our guide Mohamed who introduced us to our horses Surprise and Pandora two very beautiful beladi horses (local Egyptian breed) before we mounted up and rode off.

Taking it easy we rode down to the beach where we were given the choice of splashing about in the sea or going for a gallop along the beach.

Of course we opted for both!!! 😜

It was like something out of a dream cantering along the beach splashing through the shallow water it gave a sense of freedom and excitement all rolled in to one!

The deeper we took the horses in to the sea the more fun they seemed to have my horse Surprise seemed to be having as much fun as I was wading through the shallows i’m sure given half a chance she would of swam out to sea with me in tow! She really was a water baby! 😍

We had the option of swimming in the deep water but because of my knee i decided against it this time after all I still had more adventures to go on and didn't want to put my self out of action on the first trip!

So we waded out in to the deepest part of the shallows letting the water reach our boots and relished the sound of the horses splashing through the water.

On our return to the stables we went for a wonder around the horses and met the beautiful baby Dahab a very cheeky foal who just loved having a good scratch behind the ears! we where given sweet Egyptian tea and water before we caught up with our taxi so we could make our way back to the hotel.

Sat in our hotel later that evening reflecting on the mornings events in the 40 years I have been riding I have to say riding on the beach with the clear blue waters of the Red Sea on horses that not only looked amazing but had such personality was won of the best rides I have had in a long time.

Would I do it again?

Heck Yeah!!!!

In fact I loved it so much this adventure is now being added to the list of riding adventures here in Egypt!
